The Fate of a Poor Farmer
A poor farmer lived in a village. He lived his life with his wife. He had a thatched house. They lived a very simple life. They had no greed for others' wealth. They had been living from hand to mouth for a long time.
One day he bought a goose from the market with his savings. It was not an ordinary goose. It was a magic goose. One day the goose laid an egg. It was a golden egg. The farmer was very astonished to see the egg. He was very pleased. Taking the egg the farmer went to the market and sold it. By selling eggs he got a lot of money. He bought all the necessary things for his family with the money. After reaching home, seeing all these things his wife was surprised.
She was extremely happy to see the necessary things. Sho took all the things from the farmer's hand and went inside the house. The farmer went into the house after his wife.
The next day the goose laid a golden egg again. The farmer took it and sold it to the market. Then he got a lot of money and went home away happily. In this way, the farmer got huge money and turned into a rich man. He did not like this slow process to become a rich man. He wanted all the eggs at a time. By selling all the eggs he could be rich quickly. Getting more brings him more greedy.
So, One day he and his wife thought of a plan sitting on the bed. They thought that if they would get all the eggs at a time then he could have become a rich man rapidly. So, he decided that he would cut the belly of the goose.
On the other day, the farmer took a sharp knife and cut the belly of the goose. But he found nothing in the belly of the goose except flesh and blood. Seeing this the farmer became crazy. He began to cry madly.
After cutting the belly of the goose the goose died. It did not give golden eggs anymore. He became poor again.
For his excessive greed, the farmer lost his wonderful goose last forever.
At last, the poor farmer realized his mistake. But then there was no way to get back the wonderful goose once again.
